Päivitetty 6.11.2008 The Supportative Association for the Third Sector Organisations in Central Finland (KYT)
The Supportative Association for the Third Sector Organisations is an intermediary body, which provides special services and gives support for the non profit organisations in Central Finland. The aim of the activity is to give a possibility for the non profit organisations to concentrate better on their main activities.
In Finland public services are effective and due to that the NGO sector is not very well developed. A need for the kind of services that KYT can provide has become obvious. KYT is unique and exemplary organisation to other provinces on Finland.
KYT has two organisation forms. The KYT cooperative was founded in December 1999 and the KYT association was founded in April 2001.
The cooperative is a non profit social enterprise. It maintains a firm of accountants, which provides administrational services for local associations. The cooperative takes care of bookkeeping, payment applications, auditings of the accounts and the overall financial administration of the associations. It also gives training for the non profit association on administrational matters.
The association provides councelling and guidance services for the local non profit associations. It seeks for finance possibilities, helps to plan the projects, evaluates the projects. It can also administer the projects of the associations for them. The association administers also few its own projects. The association has aproximately 15-20 employees.
As an intermediary body the Supportive Association for the Third Sector Organisations in Central Finland maintains the nerworking between the public sector organisations and the NGOs in the area of Central Finland.
